Shikha Bachloo– Leadership and Career Growth Coach

What inspired you to explore coaching or training, and what does this journey mean to you personally at this stage of your life?

I have always been curious to understand what drives human behaviour. Coaching gave me a lens to understand people behaviour at a deeper level and firstly to understand myself deeply. It made me realize when given a space to think clearly & deeply, people can do miracles with themselves.

Personally coaching journey has been rewarding for me as everything I take up now is more intentional. There is a mindset shift too in terms of what battles can be let go and what I should work towards. The best thing though is I am in a position to make a meaningful impact and enable others.

How do you currently define yourself—as a professional, a learner, and a future coach or trainer?

I have complete faith and belief in my capabilities as a strong & diligent professional. I see myself as someone who can navigate ambiguity, collaborate with curiosity and integrity and drive desired outcome. As a coach I am someone who enables through listening intently, observing and providing a space where people can question their own limiting mindset.

What beliefs or mindset shifts have most influenced your decision to step into the coaching or training space?

The most important mindset shift for me has been questioning my actions so I became more self-aware. I observed my surrounding and emotional-triggers and worked around them.

This made me take up coaching as I realized too many people struggle with this and don’t know what they want from life or even if they do, they don’t take any action and blame surroundings.

I firmly believe self-awareness is the foundation on which everything can be built.

When you think about your future as a coach or trainer, what kind of impact do you want to create, even if it still feels evolving?

I want to enable people to see themselves with more clarity and emotional regulation. If people know what they want and what actions they need to take to make that happen that would be success for me.

What does “success” mean to you right now, beyond money or titles?

Right now success means to be in a position where I can influence outcomes without compromising on my values & beliefs. To be able to act on what I want from my life.

Investing time in preparation, learning and showing up consistently is how I address inner challenges.

I am a firm believer in if you think of good things, good things will happen to you.

Through mentorship, online courses and implementing the learning. I am focussed on deepening my emotional intelligence and executive presence. I am privileged to work directly with CXOs in my professional role, so I learn a lot by observing the best leaders in the industry.

What values or principles do you want your coaching or training practice to be known for in the long run?

Biased for action in terms of ownership & accountability is the foundation of my coaching. Collaborate with Integrity and lead with clarity is something I firmly believe in.

My identity evolves as someone who creates value and meaningful impact in people’s life. I want to position myself as a coach with whom people want to associate because I drive visible impact.

Respecting my work and the individual defines integrity and ethics for me. Having clear boundaries, judgement free and confidential environment is key to it.

While tools do provide a framework, the way I have been coaching is with empathetic listening, mindful presence and emotional connect that helps to achieve the desired outcome for the coachee.

What kind of support, environment, or mentorship do you believe will help you grow sustainably in this profession?

Mentorship where my thinking will be challenged and where I can be coached on my coaching. Support in terms of providing a psychological safe environment where my mentors can provide insights on my blind spots and hold me accountable.

If you look five years ahead, what kind of coach or trainer do you genuinely aspire to become?

I aspire to be a coach who has strategic and long-term vision, who not just touches the tip of the ice-berg but transforms the mindset where people get to understand themselves at a deeper level.
